If you are looking for a Winchester Nursery with a difference, then our Kindergarten at Marwell Zoo offers just that.  Where else would your child get to learn and develop whilst surrounded by zoo animals?

Our ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ Kindergarten is the perfect environment for your child to embrace nature and our approach to education means they will receive the skills early on in life, in order to thrive into adulthood. In this blog, we answer some commonly asked questions about our Winchester Nursery.

Is your Kindergarten actually in the zoo?

View from our Winchester nursery

Yes! We have taken over the old Tree Tops restaurant and even have a balcony overlooking the giraffe and penguin enclosures. We regularly have explorer sessions to learn more about the animals. Read more about the setting here.

What indoor facilities are offered?

We are so lucky to be in such an incredible setting and our inside spaces are the ideal calm and relaxing spaces that they need at this age. Our Kindergarten features two large classrooms, both with children’s kitchens set up for baking, a sleep room, nature room, music room, parent room and dining hall.

“The staff are all fantastic, and the location still blows me away every time I go to pick him up. Can't speak highly enough of it.” - James, Parent. View more 5* reviews on our Facebook page here.

What secure outside spaces do you have?

As well as the whole zoo to explore, we have some great outdoor spaces which are solely for children at our Kindergarten. These include a large vegetable garden, a supersized sand pit, dens, climbing equipment and access to a private woodland.

What daily activities will my child do?

Everyday is different at our Winchester Nursery, take a look at our ‘Day in the life’ page here.

How many children can the Kindergarten take at one time?

Winchester Nursery

Our Winchester Nursery is the largest of our 4 Kindergartens around Dorset and Hampshire and we can accept up to 60 children per day. We ensure a good staff to child ratio so that each child receives the attention they deserve.

How can I enrol?

Spaces are limited and we are starting to fill up for September, for this reason we have a registration fee of £50 when you sign up. The enrolment form should only take you about 10 minutes and can be found here.
