With 2019 in full swing, we are very excited for another wonderful year at our outdoor kindergartens around Dorset and Hampshire.
2018 saw Kids Love Nature introduce a new kindergarten at Lytchett Minster, and we also announced our new brand name from nurseries to kindergartens. It was a busy year, with plenty of open days, charity events and family activities. Continue reading to find out more about some of the plans we have for this year.
Kindergarten open days
With the first open days taking place during January and February, we’ve already enjoyed meeting lots of new families who are keen to learn more about the Kids Love Nature approach and ethos, and to visit our stunning kindergarten settings.
If you’ve missed our other open days, no problem, we run open days throughout the year and you can also arrange a 1-1 visit with the manager at a time that suits you.
Showrounds and open days are a great way to discover our unique spaces and beautiful outdoor areas as well as see the kindergarten in full swing and meet the team.
View our open day events on the website here.
Seasonal activities
Seasonal events and activities are a great way to keep children's minds active and develop a real interest about what is going on around them. It gives us the opportunity to teach different skills and really develop their imagination.
Popular seasonal activities include:
Spring
With nature surrounding us and at the heart of everything we do, Springtime is the perfect chance for exploration and discovery, especially with the weather warming up. Children explore the beautiful outdoor areas surrounding their kindergartens, spot young birds and wildlife, find budding trees & flowers, learn about seasonal changes and to get involved in all the excitement that Spring brings, take part in Easter activities and generally get stuck into everything that Spring encompasses.
Summer
With lighter evenings, children get to enjoy the outdoors all day, making dens and gardening in the vegetable patch. On sunny days in the garden, some children can be found practicing yoga and mindfulness with the help of a teacher, who shows them relaxation, yoga positions and breathing exercises to help them feel peace and calm.
Autumn
From making their own pumpkin pies to splashing in the puddles. The drastic change in seasons and weather conditions from summer to autumn allow children to let their creativity run wild with them using the nature around them to inspire their artwork. Autumn is also a great time to teach some of our favourite bushcraft activities, such as how to light a fire.
Winter
We can’t resist all the wonderful activities that winter brings at Kids Love Nature. From water, snow and ice activities, to making bird feeders and toasting homemade treats on the bonfire. We also have a wonderful winter family day in the woods, where Santa Claus often stops by for a visit.

Family days
Children at Kids Love Nature enjoy showing off their kindergartens, so our family days are the perfect opportunity for them to do this. They take the reins and have the chance to show you around the garden and other outdoor areas, as well as what their favourite activities are. Children take great pride in sharing their special place with you, and if you get a bit muddy during the process, even better!
Parent talks and socials
At all our kindergartens, we encourage parents to attend our parent talks and social evenings, they allow you to discover more about our approach and how Kids Love Nature can really benefit your child, and also get to know other families attending the kindergarten and staff on a more personal level.
Our managers will make you aware of our parent talks and socials through the monthly newsletters that are distributed.
Parents evenings
Our Kids Love Nature parent evenings give you the best chance to know exactly what your child has been up to and how they are developing, we focus a lot on;
Confidence building
